Our Mission
The Huskie Quarterback Club is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that the Douglas County High School Football Program remains one of the finest and most competitive prep athletic programs in the region. It is the mission of the Club to help raise the funds necessary to provide our coaches and players with the resources needed to be a competitive force within the league, as well as helping our kids experience the best that high school athletics has to offer. The Club accomplishes these goals through the continuing support of our community and the parents, friends and relatives of Huskie players and coaches.
Annual Fundraising Events
Huskie Hoedown
The Huskie Hoedown is our largest annual fundraising event and many folks would agree it is the most fun! It is a western-style live auction, silent auction, dinner and barn dance held each year in late May or early June at the beautiful Wiens Ranch just southwest of Castle Rock. Many terrific items are donated to the Club to be auctioned and there is excellent food, live entertainment and an open bar. This event is the perfect opportunity for a parents-only night out. Pull on yer boots, put on yer ten gallon hat and prepare for an evening of fun "the cowboy way"!
Firehouse Barbecue
The Firehouse Barbecue takes place during the Douglas County Fair in August. Our barbecue experts set up camp behind the firehouse the evening before the parade and slowly smoke tender cuts of meat all night long. Huskie football players serve up complete barbecue meals to hungry parade spectators. A terrific all-ages event during the fair!
The Huskie Card
The Huskie Card provides significant discounts such as 2 for 1 or up to 25% off at many local area merchants such as Papa John's, Pizza Hut, Nicolo's, Sonic, Burger King, Subway, Waffle House and many more. Huskie players sell the cards for 2 for $25 and the card is valid for a period of one year. It's a great deal that can easily pay for itself with just a few uses.
DC Huskies Logo Merchandise
The Club sells a wide variety of apparel and merchandise bearing the Douglas County or Huskies logo and insignia. T-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, etc. Show your team spirit with a new DC Huskies hoodie!
Football Game Programs
Want to know who made that amazing catch or sacked the other team's quarterback? You'll want a DC Football Game Program then! The programs contain game schedules, team rosters and other great info as well as advertising from local businesses. The Club designs and prints the program and Huskie players sell them in the stands during home games.
Club Officers, Meetings and Membership
The Club officers for 2008 are Co-Presidents Tim & Brenda Bulter, Co-Vice Presidents Sheryll White & Cindi Blicharz, Secretary Shauna Roos and Co-Treasurers Dave & Shannon Moudy
. We are all very pleased to be involved with the Club and are excited to continue working on the goals and objectives we have established for the Club for this year.
The Club meets on the first Wednesday of every month in the Room 3 at the Douglas County High School. Click here for a map to locate the Room 3. The officers would like to encourage all Club members to attend as many meetings as possible this year as we have several new items on the agenda and we need your help and input.
Interested in the Club, but not a Club member? Not sure if you want to be? Come to a meeting! The officers would like to extend an open invitation to anyone interested in the Club to attend a meeting to see what it's all about. One of our goals this year is to increase Club membership, so we'd love to have you join! But we are not going to try to pressure you into it. Come to a meeting, talk to some members or any of the officers and then decide for yourself if you'd like to join us. We know what you're thinking... "fundraising - what a pain!". Even though fundraising is our primary goal, we are all just a bunch of fun-loving folks and most of our fundraising activities are very fun, not only for the event attendees, but also for the Club members working the event!
